Party Games - Public Beta 26/06/15

Hi there! As some of you may know, I've been working on a party games mod for quite a while now and it's now entering the stage of public beta testing! Anyone is free to join the server, it'll be up for however long people want to play the mod.

When? 1PM GMT 26th of June, 2015
Where? IP to the server will be posted as soon as it is turned on.
 
All maps and the mod itself will be hosted on CoDScript's server to avoid people downloading having an impact on the server's network (just my local 60 down, 20 up, nothing special), should also give some faster download speeds.

Party Games-

 

Moshpit:

your speed and jump height increase/decrease randomly meaning some players might be super fast while some are jumping high etc.

 

Pass the Parcel:

At HQ sites, players from the team have to defend the spots and one player from each team with escorts has to carry the parcel to each of the points and when you die, you drop it.

 

Moon:
Low gravity and everyone has an RPG but it takes like 2 hits explosive hits to kill someone. Also, the sky and lighting changes to be like on the moon.

 

Wrestling:

In a large area on any map, all the players stand around 2 people who are in the middle of the area. These 2 people have the bare hands from deathrun and it takes 5 hits to die. The people standing around can't get in their way but they can cheer in chat using set binds that have sounds and stuff.

 

Hackers:

One team go loud with pistols and then you have the other team with silenced shotguns (nerfed) who have to go out and sneakily go to a site where they hack. When the laptop is hacked, the other team has 15 seconds before the hack is sent out. If they can get to laptop without dying, they can unsend the hack. Similar to SnD but it's cooler. 

 

Musical Bots:

Music plays then, it stops and static player models are place round the map. When you knife these models they get you 1 kill/point. The 3 person with the least points/kills after 5 seconds are set to spectator and lose. Then, music starts playing again and the next time it stops, less models spawn etc etc.

 

Birdy:

One player is in the sky with a ac130 kinda shittier plane with a bad gun and the players below have to go around on the ground and collect little boxes which give them points and hurt the person in the sky.

 

Power Hungry:

FFA, everyone starts with the same weapon (random every time you play) and for every 2 kills you earn a powerup. This can be a speed boost, health increase, short amount of time with a raygun etc.

 

These are probably too hard to do but whatever.

I'll think of some more ideas later.

Do a gamemode where you can place boxes and one team has to be a fortress. Then, the other team has to invade the base and can break blocks with 5 knife hits or something cool like that.

 

Also make an infected/zombies mode

AND a dropzone gamemode!

Only thing so far I can say when we were testing it that you should fix is

1.) Fire rate limit on semi-auto weapons that are reasonable (You lazy nub, can't just have some with it while others don't have it at all :angryarnold: )

2.) Some of the menu selects (Such as when you join the game) are absurdly huge

Besides that, enjoyable ^^

The HUD is completely messed up, everythings out of proportion, off the screen, too big etc. MY resolution is 1.4k x 1k so idk what the problem is.

 

also, i left after 2 rounds bcs it was so slow ;-; like the intermission between dying and the next round took 5ever.

 

BUT it's a nice mod, just not for me :dave:

So just a couple of improvements I could think of from the few games that I played:

 

1) In sharpshooter there is no notification to when the weapons are going to change without constantly having to look at the time. So maybe there could either be like a weapon timer, notifications, eg. "5 seconds left", or sound beeps for the last 3 seconds (think this is used in the actual gamemode on more recent CoDs.

 

2) I'm not sure if this is possible with some maps or not. But I feel that the one in a chamber game mode is suited a lot to camping and trying to hide waiting for enemies to run past you. In BO1 they actually made it so that this gamemode was played in a section of the map rather than the full map, so I wondered if there is any chance of doing this to the maps to make it slightly more interesting,

Dat should become a permanent server with gamemode vote. I swear that'd be awesome, atleast aslong as people play on it.

 

Anyways, nice job and i liked those gamemode ideas Waffles posted

Alright, since I've had a couple people ask me why the server is down, I've decided to put it back up today at 7PM GMT. I've ironed out all bugs that were found yesterday, took some tips and implemented them and added two more gamemodes (more being added, possibly will have one more ready for testing today). Server IP changed in the first post to a subdomain on CoDScript that's set up to redirect to my IP, too lazy to edit posts all the time.

My opinion on the mod AS OF NOW: I don't like, sorry but i just don't it just doesnt feel 'party' enough, it's not fun enough for me, however i have a couple suggestions for you that MAYBE might make it better

Suggestions:

1. Speed up the credits, it's kinda slow imo

2. Add those MW3 sounds i sent you, it might make the experience slightly more fun

3. Add some more maps, like the one's i suggested in the combined ops thread

4. Make the rate of fire higher on the M9

5. Add some more customization besides character and weapon, considering the weapon can only ideally be customized on AoN, so kinda removes the ability to have a custom weapon on the majority of gamemodes

6. Add a playercard like in raid's fun server/deathrun, i think that it look nice, something like this:

Will be putting beta server back up for a couple games at 7PM GMT, mainly done bug fixing, not a lot of new things have been added. I have however implemented a VIP menu, if you want access to this menu during testing, PM me your FULL GUID so I can add it to the config file.

 

If anyone has any ideas for features for the menu, I'd be more than happy to hear about them. Currently only have a VIP Deagle, Deadpool character model and status icon.

Final beta test tonight at 8PM GMT! I didn't get around to adding more gamemodes so these'll be for future updates after the mod is released. Main things I've done is fix all bugs that were found and added a fedora to the VIP menu. :>

I like this mod alot but it does have some things that need to be changed.
Things I would like to see changed / added to make the mod better:

Mod
1. More customizing options
Add sprays and trails just like deathrun.
2. Credits
Like Triton said in his post, make the credits faster they are too slow.
3. Final Killcam Time
Make the final killcam start 1-2 seconds later, its starts too early imo.
4. Custom models
Add more custom models, not only pistol models but primary weapon models too. Some weapons like the crossbow or ballistic knife would be cool too.
5. Help Button
Add a help button in the ingame menu. So people who dont know what you have to do in a certain gametype can see what the objective of the gametype is or what happens when you get a kill etc.
6. Duplicate maps
1 nuketown is enough should remove nuketown 2025 because the port isn't 100% right and because that it is less fun to play on imo.

 

Game mode specific
Gun Game
1. Weapons
Make it have 15-20 guns, 30 is way too much imo and no random gun order. Make it like Pistols > Shotguns > Sub machine guns > Assault rifles > Light machine guns > Snipers > Special weapons. With special weapons I mean the rpg and some custom weapons, like the crossbow and ballistic knife.
2. Radar
Make it have a flashing radar not a constant radar.
3. Weapons
Remove all silenced weapons, no point in having a silencer if the uav is on.

All or Nothing
1. Score and time limit
Make the time limit 5 minutes and the score limit 20 kills (this is the same as on mw3), 10 minutes and 30 score is just too long.

Cranked
1. Party Games?!
Cranked isn't a party game it's just a regular gametype for cod ghosts so idk really why this gametype is in the mod.
2. Cranked
When you are cranked make it have a yellow-goldish glow around your screen like on ghosts. Example:

3. Cranked when not cranked [bUG]
When you are not cracked it still kills you after 30 seconds, might want to fix that asap
4. Scoring
On ghosts when you are cranked it gives you double score. I would like to see this in the mod.

Infected
1. Radar
The gametype shouldnt have a constant radar, this makes it too hard for the infected to kill survivors. Only have the radar flash for infected when there is one survivor left.
2. Specialist Killstreak
I would like to see a specialist killstreak to get added or just scavenger because you run out of ammo pretty quickly.

One in the chamber
1. Radar
Make the radar flash when there are 3 people left alive, not constant the whole game.

Sharpshooter
1. Radar
Have no uav.
2. Time limit
Make the time limit 5 minutes the current one is too long.

I've fixed all issues mentioned and added some of the stuff suggested, update is now live on the server.

 

More customisation options etc will be added in a future update, but for now I'm taking a short break from this mod after having worked hard on it for 2 weeks straight. Any severe bugs found will be fixed ASAP but anything else will have to wait. ;)

I think I speak for us all

 

Really good work on the mod, I really enjoy playing it, and if the beta servers had more players at the time I would've played for like 10 hours straight :P

 

Would really like to see this become a Raid Mod once it's polished enough, I think it could do really well if people from DR and Promod knew about it.

Would like to see infected be a bit more mw3 like. Like: hud elements, specialist killstreaks etc...

 

Also, wouldn't be too bad of an idea to add some kind of sharpshooter countdown to infected, so people stop complaining about not having enough ammo.

 

Talking about "every 60 seconds everyone gets a random weapon" good thing about it is that infected still have a good chance of winning because you could still get a shit gun, for example an rpg with 2 rockets or a pistol

 

All in all, I'd rather see a 24/7 mw3 infected server instead of party games ( but that is because mw3 was my fav gamemode in mw3 and I'm not the biggest fan of the others )

 

mw3 gsc's are released somewhere, so you can get them and take a look at the infect.gsc file for the hud and stuff

Anyway, the thing is we already have a server running infected 24/7. It's just not the same design as the MW3 infected. In fact, the mod we are running was actually created BEFORE infected was, and is probably where the developers of cod got the idea from. If you check the servers page you'll see "Raid Zombies" ^^

my suggestions/fixes

 

infected respawn

-make them become infected where they are so if they're in a group camp they can get everyone.

 

infected rounds

- add rounds because it goes very quick, maybe for other modes too

 

sog knife for infected

- instead of empty pistol

 

sog knife in gungame

-so you can be a troll and piss people off

 

reduce infected round time (8mins..)

-no one can survive/be bother to play that long

 

when you go spectate and join game in one in chamber you keep your lives and you can avoid dying.

-glitch

 

more maps

-ill suggest some if you want, just ask

 

fixes

-something weird happened when I only got 2 kills on cranked I think and it said I was 1st at the end

-also the game winning killcam was caspa doing nothing since no one got a kill for a while

 

gamemodes

-sticks and stones

-the one with the care packages.. drop zone?

-michelle myers

-oldschool knife only or rpg only

-thirdperson free for all

-disco mode (disco fog, visuals and music/sounds)

-find the object, person who finds all the randomly spawned objects wins

-nuke game

-eliminate bots (basically there are bots on each team and you have to shoot the other team's bots but NOT the humans, team with most bot kills win)

-football (you spawn a dynamic model which is big and you shoot it around and there are goal points at either spawn, I like this idea)

-zombieland (maps have crates with doors and stuff and zombies) (same from mw2 look up videos) (I love zombieland mod)

-look at my and other previous posts, we have more good ideas.
