Need some help with my map. (mp_dr_neon)

Hey,

 

My Activator part went black after a save. In map editor I can still see all of it, but when in game i use noclip to go there, but everything is black, and I cant walk there. JR-Imagine, if you read this, please accept my invite on skype? Would appriciate your help in Dutch, or Vlamish?

Eh... I don't add people I don't know on Skype, I have to appear as offline every time cause otherwise I get spammed with people asking for help. (Mainly custom zombies guys asking for scripting help cause I'm Community Scripter on UGX. :dumb:) Could've also approached me in private if you really wanted help specifically from me. ;)

 

What did you do inbetween saves? Did you change anything to the lightgrid? Have you checked your lightpreview in Radiant (select all lights and make sure you are previewing at max intensity)? When compiling reflections, is that area lit up or not?

 

For the not being able to walk there problem, can you just not move or do you fall through? If you fall through you might have made your brushes non-solid, select them and hit Selection -> Make structural. If not, check if you didn't add a brush (caulk, clip, ...) covering that area on accident.

One reflection probe per room, DON'T put reflection probes inside brushes otherwise it'll fuck up.

light limit is about 2024, more lights = longer compile.

I dont have that much lights, but it still doesnt work. I'ts freakin me out. I don't know where the problem is... Stuck for 3 days.

Mind showing us the properties of the lights by clicking on one and pressing N?

You probably have too small of a radius or something.

As for the red, you need to compile reflections each time you add a new light.

Add world spawn settings?

 

Also try adding a gap in one of the clips behind the activator.

It's not the worldspawn settings as one room has and the other hasn't light.

English

1. To solve the red you have to add a lightgrid.

2. Use at least 1 reflection_probe in a map.

3. The light may not penetrate solid materials. Simply said it may just be that light does not reach in sufficient quantities. (But I can not tell this from your Radiant...)

 

Dutch

1. Om het rode op te lossen (moet) je een lightgrid gebruiken.

2. Minstens 1 reflection_probe in een map.

3. Het licht kan niet door vaste materialen. Of simpel gezegd er komt waarschijnlijk te weinig licht door de materialen. (Kan ik niet zien in je Radiant...)

 

P.s. als je Nederlandse hulp wil voeg me dan maar toe op Steam/XFire
