    So I get on Meingraft for the first time on MY pc... seems like I can only play at 40fps with all settings minimal. I just can't anymore...

      Minecraft isn't poorly optimized. And Dolph1n, Minecraft can't afford to boost graphics any higher. The amount of randomness and calculations that your GPU has to do per second limits how well MC can actually run, hence the low 8-bit like graphics.

      tl;dr, because MC is randomly generated, your GPU can't handle more graphics without crashing.
