Raid Gaming is Staying Alive!

First of all, hello everyone! Okay I'll be explaining a few things in this topic about the current situation Raid Gaming is in and what we plan on doing. Second of all, you can tell I wrote this and not Anti because it's not double spaced in-between each and every single line.

 

But iMtroll, I thought Raid-Gaming was closing?!?!?!111oneone!: Don't worry youngling, everything will be answered in this topic. 

 

Okay so originally, Raid Gaming was supposed to be closing, because of reasons stated in THIS TOPIC. But a small group of us here at raid have decided to pretty much take the community in to our own hands with permission of the previous owners but on new equipment and accounts for legal reasons such as data protection and similar issues. Because of this it means our servers will be hosted on a new dedicated server; but don't worry, it's got the exact same specifications as the server we have now except we now have 150Mbps more bandwidth than before, at the same price. (Yes, this means it WILL be harder to attack us, not that you should be testing this or attacking us in the first place.)

 

Obviously, since Raid will now be under new ownership this means there will have to be some changes, but we promise that we will try our best to keep Raid the same way it was in its original glory (maybe with a tad bit less errors in our punctuation, grammar and sentence structure now that Lossy is not a part of the admin team ;P love ya babes) In no way will the mod be changed except for a few minor changes every now and again just like Lossy was doing to the mod, to keep it alive and fresh. There will also be bug fixes whenever something occurs. 

 

Where is the new server hosted? Unfortunately, upon ordering from SYS (A company owned by OVH) I selected a server in Canada hoping this would be the best server we can get the new dedi in the same location as our current one (PROOF:

Only available location was Canada...) BUT, we were given a server in France, sorry to those of you who will have a slight ping difference.

 

To those of you that helped me buy the dedi, thank you and I will be giving you the money back but you will be receiving it one by one over time from my own bank account, so this may take some time. 

 

Once again, thank you everyone and I hope you can all enjoy Raid still! If you have any problems please let me know and I'll see what I can do! 

 

TL;DR 

I am now an owner of Raid, new server will be in France (sorry, but blame OVH / SYS), Raid will be running the same way it always was and nothing will change except for some minor things over time to keep things fresh, just as Lossy did.

Which, of course, is possible due to: The users, players, regulars, donators, admins, and additional helpers

 

It takes everyone together to achieve what has been occurring for past two years and that's no different now

 

Look forward to Raid continuing along the community remaining healthy and positive within itself 

 

As for those who are leaving us (Community managers and whoever else may be unfortunately departing) will be sincerely missed and all their work and time is appreciated

JR-iMtroll I don't want my donation back bud.  Raid is a great community and I don't mind supporting it at all. :)  Thanks to all that has made this happen but France has always been terrible for me ping wise.  We'll see how it turns out.

Anyway, I'm glad that you have taken over Raid, due to your matureness and your top-notch grammar! (no disrespect Lossy c:) Also because of your trusted admin status on Raid, so you have a decent amount of experience on monitoring servers and possibly making minor changes to benefit the mod & community.

 

Therefore I'd like to say a massive THANKS! to you, and everybody else who helped in donating to .

 

Also might I add that we owe a massive Thanks to none other than @BraXi (although he's staying with Raid, we still owe him it for making this amazing fun mod) @Thomas (never really got to know you that well, but you're a nice guy, and you're the secret behind Raid c:) @Lossy (you've always been the technical guy of the group, making the truly amazing edited mod, and doing everything behind the scene to make Raid have an awesome community) And arguably the best Community Manager all rounded, @Darmuh (you're the one who made Raid so popular with your stunning youtube videos, advertising Raid in a more, mature and friendly way, also your kindness both in server and out is tremendous)

I hope to see Raid live on for years to come, and maybe expand to other games in the future!

I am ecstatic to hear that Raid is not closing anymore and I am sincerely grateful for Troll keeping Raid alive. The Owners and admins have shaped this community into a friendly, well run machine and it is one of the best communities I know and am extremely happy to be apart of. On a side note, @, what will happen to us original owners. I see in the new TS I still have my rooms and was wondering since I'm no longer an "admin" if they will be deleted. I'd much rather they stay but it is of course up to you guys now that I'm out of management. I'm also curious what general permissions I will have on forums/servers (since I'll probably still visit both casually).

@@Darmuh The channels can stay as you have friends that come on and talk to you, it's up to you whether or not if you wish for your groups to be changed though as I'm not forcing you to resign.
