Jokes aside, I like the idea. Get some nice slippy slide traps in their mixed with other unique shit and you've got yourself a good map imo.

Trap Ideas:

 

Trap 1: Falling Icicles from the ceiling.

 

Trap 2: Slippery Floor of some sort.

 

Trap 3: Avalanche

 

Trap 4: Penguins with AK-47's try to shoot you

 

Trap 5: Snowballs are hurled at you by catapults/Cannons

 

Trap 6: You jump on glaciers and they melt from under you.

 

Trap 7: Giant-Ass Snowball rolls towards you. (*Gets bigger as it goes*)

 

Trap 8: A bob-sled type thing. You control a sled, steer it though a passageway. (Acti trys crushing you)

 

Trap 9: Icy-Trees fall over and crush you

 

Trap 10: You must cross a very icy bridge. The activator needs to activate it, to make the bridge collapse from explosions.

 

Trap 11: You fall though a icy river, and freeze yourself to death.

 

Trap 12: Heat-Lasers are activated, and have to be controlled by the activator to kill you, the jumper must dodge it.

Anyways, I like the idea of the map. We never had snow-themed map. (What we could do... Is changing maps to snow-themed maps, so maps like eh mp_dr_pyramid become mp_dr_snow_pyramid ;P :dave:

It's a good idea, just I never liked pyramid to begin with. All personal opinion. Lossy should really finish mp_dr_darmuh_snow or whatever it's called. And thank you, I made that list when I was bored. :>

This looks like it could potentially become an incredible map, if the traps are nice and unique, the only problem is, try and not make a starting door to this kind of map, it is un needed.

What can I improve? (im aware of the "water" and that you can see through it :p)

Make the water more icy blue and also, add a layor of snow on top of brushes (just copy the brush, make it thinner, put it on top and use the snow texture).

Try and use a better more unique way to start the map instead of just some random door that slides down. 

 

I have a few of ideas so feel free to use them. 

 

#1 -  the passageway is blocked off by loads of snow, script the earthquake effect to play and the snow slowly breaks apart (like an avalanche). 

 

#2 -  There's a lake in the pathway, play a whole load of snow/stormy effects to create a blizzard and the lake freezes over, making it safe for the players to cross. Using a slippy texture of course. 

 

#3 - You could start in a massive igloo and have a smaller, more realistic door. 

 

#4 -  Same as having the igloo to start, but instead of having a door the earthquake effect plays and the igloo starts collapsing in on itself. 

 

If you don't like any of these ideas I'm not going to be offended, just perhaps try to think a new way to start. There are too many maps with just a random door that slides down which doesn't really fit into the map theme.

 

After all, for maps, first impressions are key. If you have an awesome beginning then people are more likely to like it more. (from my experience)

The black stuff where the snowballs are is to it harder to dodge the snowballs
