Get Hirens Boot and check there if your HDD is dead or not, otherwise make a backup if ain't dead

The disk on the hdd doesn't even move

The disk on the hdd doesn't even move

1) Take an old SATA drive that you don't use anymore but still works

2) Open up your dead HDD

3) Open up the old HDD

4) Move the disks from the dead HDD to the old HDD

5) The disks should technically still be intact so if there's no damage to the disks themselves transferring them over to a new spindle thingy majigger should work fine. (Hopefully ;__; )

 

You have nothing to lose, so take an hour this weekend and try it out.
