  1. Thanks losseh! I don't plan on going into any war zones, but if they need an IT guy there I may end up being the unlucky one stuck going there. Still very unlikely i'll ever see combat but ya never know ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Ya best be preparing for a darmooo visit in the next few years cuz ya know I've always wanted to visit england. I'll make sure to give ya a proper noogie and everything :dumb: Navy was actually my second choice, but i'm glad I ended up here as well. Thanks for the luck i'll probably need it xD Aww shucks I forgot cledi D: You're an interesting fellow, hope to see you still hangin around when I'm back ;) So many compliments in one quote O.O Thank you! I can understand the cs addiction, once it's got a hold it's not something to shake off. I was of course, allowed to play all day as well, but I found it's not good for me. I needed more in my life than what I have at home. This is why I decided it's best to move on. Once I'm out of basic you can basically guarantee I'll come right back to playing csgo as often as possible, but it won't be the only reason I wake up in the morning. And I think that's important. My deathrun maps for some reason have always been somewhat popular, and I'll never fully understand that. I can go on and on about what I suppose makes them enjoyable, but in the end my opinion doesnt matter. The maps took on a life of their own it seems :D As for my youtube, you're right about hardly posting. Even when I was most active it was hard for me to really post a lot. I'd like to think this is because i'm sort of a perfectionist when it comes to videos. I never wanted to post anything that I myself wouldn't enjoy watching. So it was a constant battle of coming up with new ideas and executing them to a certain level of satisfaction. I don't know if I'll ever come back to being a youtuber, however I probably will post a video once in a while on there. I agree that it shouldnt be easy, and it most definitely wont be. And I'm excited to see how I will end up coming out of this. Appreciate the good luck and dont worry about writing a lot, I enjoy it. peace out y0. keep up that grind to global ;) I agree the video is perfect :D I feel this is going to be a real journey, a real adventure, a real test for myself. I definitely plan on coming back, dont know why I wouldnt :| My rate (job) is IT so I highly doubt I'll be going out to war. This means I'll be working on/with computers throughout the fleet. I can literally be stationed anywhere since IT is so necessary. Even on other military bases than NAVY, which is interesting :D I'll definitely stop by in the teamspeak once I'm all set up in my barracks in florida. So don't worry about never hearing my annoying voice again xD Glad we can move on from the past. It was stupid on both our parts anyway Thank you! From what I've read and heard from you, you're a brilliant guy. Glad you made it on the admin team. We'll definitely have more chances to speak to each-other once I'm a bit more settled in the navy. :dave:
  2. Now that we have gfycat bbcode, lets post some! example of usage: [gfycat]DelayedArtisticGuppy[/gfycat]result: now here's some gfycat's i've made to get us started :)
  3. nope, just cut it down to 15 seconds, render, then upload to gfycat as an mp4 Some tips: -render in 60fps (looks sexier) -Dont render in 1080p, it's way too big go for like 720p or 480p -use OBS to record if you dont have recording software (it's free and easy to use)

  7. I don't pay for it myself, but from comcast's website it looks like $50 for what it is currently. What I had before we probably paid around $60-$100 Not entirely sure though, as I never had to pay this bill.

  12. Where's the scouts knives option?
  13. according to this thread, this community is full of 12 year olds pretending to be 16 ps: welcome to the community! While childish & circlejerk-filled at times, it's pretty nice here.
  14. not official

This is where you have to get a little creative imo. Focus on one idea, then once that server has regular visitors move on to the next. Hosting a server is one thing, but creating an environment that will entice people to keep coming back is another. This means having specific rules & active admins, maintaining an up-to-date map rotation, and building an in-game community around that server. That is not easy and will not come right away. You have to promote the server in more ways than just posting the IP on the forums. For starters, an easy way to populate new servers would be having a "Raid Community Night". This event would be 3-5 hours of getting as much of the community as you can together to play on one server. You could even offer prizes like you did with the cod4 surf server. Furthermore it'd be a good idea to start hosting videos on youtube. Give players an outlet for their achievements, special times, etc. Record fastest time records on surf/kz, record videos of community nights for laughs, in the case of a scouts/knives or casual 5v5 server you could post player highlights once a week/month/etc. Then you post all these videos on the website in a thread. Instant full-circle between the forum users and the players on the server. This is what really glues a community together in my opinion. In CS:GO particularly, you could also host mini-tournaments whether it be 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, etc. Aim map servers are perfect for these. In fact recently at IEM San Jose casters played their 3v3 on aim maps. Once a week you could host community tenmans on 5v5 servers. tl;dr you can host: -kz -surf -bhop -scouts knives -casual 5v5 (perhaps with newer community maps like santorini) -aim_maps -1v1 arena Your biggest concern however (considering your past attempts at hosting csgo servers) is your lack of attention to them. Disregarding updates to the game results in the servers no longer being usable. Keep your server up to date with the game. I'd argue that csgo requires more constant attention than cod4 when it comes to hosting a server. But that should be obvious since csgo still receives updates while cod4 has been on 1.7 for up to 7 years.
  15. Y'all are some discriminative motherfuckers holy shit... Islam does not cause terrorism any more than any other religion. Plenty of atheists would also use terrorism to bend a country to their will. Narcos has a great example of this. Just because your parents were Jews does not mean you deserve to die WTF. And are you really trying to sympathize with Nazis? I can't believe what I'm reading out of you fucks
  16. In that case I've been 18 since I was 12 according to pornhub
  17. Sorry guys I have to confess that I too have lied about my age. I'm actually 12

  20. step 1 to receiving help: explain your problem step 2 to receiving help: provide context what is the error? where in the script does it occur? what have you tried doing to fix it? screenshot of error (mp_developer 1) etc.
  21. I feel the best code/scripts I've written were in mp_dr_twitch Most fun to make: trap08() (frenzy). Most complex: I'd say that's most definitely the ufo trap. However it's mostly just a fuckton of simple scripts. I've also written some pretty simple scripts that I find somewhat significant. Randomizing traps (beatthat's map destiny was the first to feature this, then mp_dr_twitch), activator limit per population of server (limits the amount of times you can be activator dependent on how many players are in the server), practice run (traps activated) in place of free run (no traps activated), antiafk activator, etc. Sure twitch could have been a better map, but I find more fun in scripting than mapping. Which is why I ended up releasing it how it was. PS: You know where you can find these scripts, i'm not wasting my time digging them up lol.
  22. You say this but lack a source. Why do you think they even made upgrades to windows 10 free? There's a very large untapped market that they are trying to reach by putting everyone on the same OS (source). "About 74% of the commercial software used in China is pirated." Having a genuine copy means you're more likely to spend money on other Microsoft products or even use the app store. Which is Microsoft's end goal(source). You can either throw the book at potential customers, or give them access to make more sales. Just think of angry birds, $1 on the app store is nothing even to pirates. With "12 million copies" sold from december 2009 to october 2010, that's $12,000,000 in sales in under a year(source) Who knows what they've made by now, 5 years later. With windows 10, Microsoft is hoping to create similar market opportunities with the store app on windows 10. Which they've already started to accomplish. I've argued with others about this before. Microsoft won't plainly admit that they are welcoming pirates into genuine obviously, because that's just bad policy. However, they do stand to gain much more from doing so than aggressively attacking pirates. The worst I expect to come from upgrading a pirated copy (that it reads as genuine) is that your genuine windows 10 key will be retroactively marked non-genuine and you will lose access to genuine features. But how long will that take? it's already been almost 4 months(source). How long will it be until pirating windows is completely forgotten? Circling back to the original topic, if you want to take your chances there are many ways to upgrade to windows 10 (including what "JR-Imagine" said). Know that you are taking a risk in doing so and that windows 10 will always be subject to change since you cannot disable auto-updates. Nothing is 100% safe.
  23. back? psh i never lost it fam
  24. i probably wouldn't care because for everyone one person that did not pay, 10 others did. Not to mention plenty of computers are sold with the OS included in the package, which I am also making money from.
